Systems Administrator & Tech Advisor

Role Summary

The Systems Administrator supports Formed Through Fire Ministry by researching, learning, and organizing the digital systems and tools used across the ministry. This role focuses on understanding system capabilities, improving efficiency, and providing clear recommendations to leadership.

This is an exploratory and support role, not a decision-making or leadership rol

Primary Responsibilities

Systems & Platforms

  • Learn and explore Google Workspace for Nonprofits, including:

    • account structure and permissions

    • shared drives and organization

    • available nonprofit tools and benefits

    • integrations (Google Ads, etc.)

  • Research and summarize how ministry systems can be used effectively

    Productivity & Project Tools

  • Explore tools such as:

    • Trello or similar project/task management platforms

    • productivity or workflow tools that could support ministry operations

  • Test basic use cases and report findings to leadershi

    Tech Support & Troubleshooting

  • Help with setup and support for platforms like Google Meet, Notion, Canva, and other ministry tools

  • Troubleshoot issues with video/audio, documents, or login access

  • Assist team members with basic tech issues during Bible studies or meetings

    Digital Tools & Resource Creation

  • Help test or recommend new tools (like timers, graphic apps, digital planners)

  • Identify practical ways Design & Media Tools could support ministry needs (graphics, templates, workflows)

    Documentation & Recommendations

  • Create simple summaries or guides outlining:

    • what tools do

    • how they might be used

    • pros/cons or limitations

  • Bring recommendations to leadership for approval before any implementation


Role Boundaries

The Systems Administrator:

  • does not implement new systems without approval

  • does not make decisions about ministry direction

  • does not change workflows independently

  • does not train others unless requested

All changes require leadership approval
