What Is Sacred Somatics?

Sacred Somatics™ is an offering of Formed Through Fire Ministries, in partnership with Jane Hanna, who created the Sacred Somatics method.

This ministry helps women walk with Christ through the effects of trauma—not only in thought, but in body and spirit. Trauma leaves an imprint on the nervous system. While the gospel renews our minds, God also calls us to glorify Him in our bodies (1 Cor. 6:19–20). Sacred Somatics provides simple, Scripture-anchored practices—like breath-prayer, grounding, and embodied stillness—that invite women to experience the comfort of Christ in their whole being.

Why It Matters

Many women ask, “Why can’t I just pray it away?” Prayer is essential, but trauma recovery often requires tending to the body God created. Sacred Somatics teaches how to:

  • Release stored stress with gentle, choice-based movements.

  • Pair Scripture with embodied prayer to quiet fear and restore peace.

  • Experience God’s presence not only in your thoughts, but in your very breath and posture.

This is not therapy, yoga, or self-help. It is a biblically sound ministry practice, offered under the authority of God’s Word, in partnership with the local church.
