Day One — Not Every Thought Is Truth
“We take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:5 (CSB)
We often assume that because a thought shows up quickly or repeats itself, it must be true. But Scripture tells us otherwise. Not every thought we think deserves agreement.
Some thoughts are shaped by fear.
Some by past pain.
Some by words spoken over us years ago.
Some by exhaustion or survival.
Just because a thought feels familiar doesn’t mean it’s from God.
God invites us to pause and discern — not to judge ourselves, but to ask, “Is this thought aligned with truth?” When we learn to notice our thoughts instead of immediately believing them, renewal begins.
Today isn’t about fixing your thinking. It’s about becoming aware. Awareness is the first step toward freedom.
Reflection
What thought seems to repeat itself most often in my mind?
Does this thought align with what God says about me?
Prayer
Lord, help me notice my thoughts without fear. Teach me to bring them to You and measure them against truth. Amen.
