Surrender: Where Transformation Truly Begins
Scripture:
“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
We often approach change with effort:
“If I try harder, maybe this time will be different.”
But striving has never healed a heart.
Only surrender does.
Jesus didn’t say,
“Come to Me all who are strong, disciplined, or motivated…”
He said,
“Come to Me all who are weary and burdened.”
The very places where we feel “stuck,” “tired,” or “not enough” —
are often the places God wants to begin His gentle transformation.
Surrender is not giving up —
it is giving God access.
Not forcing change — but inviting healing.
Not fixing it — but releasing it.
You don’t need more willpower.
You need more willingness.
Reflection Questions:
What am I still trying to fix in my own strength?
What would it look like to release this — not ignore it — but trust God with it?
Application Challenge:
Each morning this week, open your hands in prayer and say:
“Lord, I surrender what I cannot change.
I invite You into this place.
Transform me — from the inside out.”
