Section 3 – New Creation & Renewed Mind

 

In Christ, you are not who you once were. The old has passed away, and your life is now defined by His Spirit within you. Transformation isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily renewal of your mind and heart.

 

1. You are a new creation in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) — “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

Summary: When you came to Christ, your old identity died. You were spiritually reborn into a completely new existence.

Declaration: I am a new creation in Christ—the old me is gone, and I live in newness of life.

 

2. You are renewed in your thoughts and attitudes

Ephesians 4:23–24 (NLT) — “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”

Summary: Transformation begins in the mind. The Holy Spirit renews how you think, feel, and see yourself so you can reflect God’s character.

Declaration: My mind is being renewed daily; I walk in my new nature, righteous and holy.

 

3. You have the mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT) — “But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”

Summary: The Spirit gives you access to divine perspective and wisdom. You can think and discern with the heart of Jesus.

Declaration: I have the mind of Christ; His wisdom, peace, and purpose guide my thoughts.

 

4. You are being transformed by renewal

Romans 12:2 (NLT) — “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

Summary: Real transformation happens when you surrender your mindset to God. Renewal shifts your entire way of living.

Declaration: I am being transformed as my mind is renewed by God’s truth.

 

5. You are made new in spirit and truth

John 3:6 (NLT) — “Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.”

Summary: Your rebirth isn’t natural—it’s supernatural. The Spirit brought you to life and continues to shape your new identity.

Declaration: I am born of the Spirit; my life flows from God’s breath within me.

 

6. You are clothed with a new nature

Colossians 3:10 (NLT) — “Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.”

Summary: Your new nature grows as you know God more deeply. Renewal is a process of becoming like Him.

Declaration: I wear the new nature of Christ; I’m being renewed in His likeness every day.

 

7. You are alive with Christ

Ephesians 2:5 (NLT) — “Even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.”

Summary: Sin brought death, but Jesus brought resurrection life. You live with His power at work inside you.

Declaration: I am alive with Christ; His resurrection power fills my life.

 

8. You are being made holy through truth

John 17:17 (NLT) — “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.”

Summary: God’s Word continually shapes you, setting you apart and cleansing your soul. Truth transforms.

Declaration: I am made holy through God’s truth; His Word sanctifies and renews me.

 

9. You are continually renewed by the Spirit

2 Corinthians 4:16 (NLT) — “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.”

Summary: Renewal isn’t a one-time moment—it’s daily. The Holy Spirit strengthens your inner self continually.

Declaration: I am renewed day by day; my spirit is refreshed through the power of God.

 

10. You are taught to think heavenly thoughts

Colossians 3:2–3 (NLT) — “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Summary: As your mind shifts heavenward, you begin to live from your true identity—hidden, secure, and eternal in Christ.

Declaration: My mind is set on heaven; my life is hidden and secure in Christ.

 

11. You are made new through grace

Titus 2:11–12 (NLT) — “For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.”

Summary: Grace not only saves you—it trains and transforms you to live a new kind of life.

Declaration: God’s grace renews and strengthens me to live righteously and fully devoted to Him.

 

12. You are continually perfected in love

1 John 4:12 (NLT) — “If we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”

Summary: Transformation is expressed through love. As you grow in love, you reveal the fullness of Christ’s work within you.

Declaration: 

God’s love is being perfected in me; I am transformed through His presence and compassion.

completely forgiven; my past is gone, and grace defines me.
