An FTF ministers blog with Kristin, Minister of Intercessory Prayer
Everyone needs an Intercessory Prayer Warrior in their life ….
I’m not talking about someone who just says “I’ll pray for you” and moves on. I’m talking about someone who actually stands in the gap… who goes before The Lord on your behalf… who opens their mouth and releases the Word of God over your life even when you don’t have the strength to do it yourself.
AN INTERCESSOR STANDS WHERE YOU CANNOT STAND. There are moments in life when you are too tired, too wounded, too overwhelmed to pray for yourself. An intercessor steps into that gap and holds the line. They stand in the spirit when you are barely standing in the natural.
AN INTERCESSOR RELEASES THE WORD OF GOD OVER YOUR LIFE. Intercessors don’t just pray feelings… they pray Scripture. They take the promises of God and speak them over you like a weapon. When someone is declaring the Word of God over your life consistently… those words are building a canopy of protection and destiny over everything you are called to do.
AN INTERCESSOR PUSHES BACK DARKNESS ON YOUR BEHALF. Ezekiel 22:30 says God looked for someone to stand in the gap. The gap is a real place in the spirit. It is the space between where you are and where the enemy wants to take you. An intercessor plants themselves in that space and refuses to move.
AN INTERCESSOR CALLS FORTH WHAT GOD SAID ABOUT YOU. Sometimes you forget what God said. Sometimes the noise is so loud you can’t hear His voice clearly. But an intercessor remembers. They pray your prophetic words back to Heaven. They declare your destiny when you’ve lost sight of it.
Don’t take for granted the person in your life who prays for you without being asked. Don’t overlook the one who texts you “I was praying for you today.” That is a gift from God.
Steward your intercessory covering. Honor it. And if you don’t have it… ask God to send it and He definitely will. The Bible says we have not because we ask not. Someone is assigned to stand in the gap for you. And someone needs you standing in the gap for them .
Building a consistent prayer life starts with treating prayer as a relationship rather than an obligation.
Do you want to build a consistent prayer life?
Have you been stuck in a rut in your prayer life ?
Do you need a miracle ?
God met me in the barn because He knew that's where my heart would listen best…
A sacred meeting place for you and the Lord doesn’t have to be a literal barn, it can be wherever your heart chooses.
The main thing is that you make time to meet with and listen to the voice of The Holy Spirit.
Schedule your prayer appointment or send prayer requests to kristin@ftfministry.org. I look forward to meeting you in the Prayer Barn each week.
