Walking In Wisdom & Discernment
Wisdom is not just knowledge — it’s applied truth. God’s wisdom directs your choices, shapes your character, and guards your path. Discernment helps you recognize what is of God and what is not, so you can walk in clarity and peace.
1. You are given wisdom when you ask
James 1:5 (NLT) — “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
Summary: God’s wisdom is available to anyone who seeks it sincerely. He delights in guiding your decisions and revealing truth.
Declaration: I ask for and receive God’s wisdom daily; His counsel leads my every step.
2. You are guided in all your ways
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT) — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
Summary: Trust invites direction. God leads those who lean on Him, not their own logic.
Declaration: I trust in the Lord with all my heart; He directs my path with wisdom.
3. You are filled with spiritual understanding
Colossians 1:9 (NLT) — “We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.”
Summary: God’s wisdom reveals not only what to do, but why. Spiritual understanding brings clarity in confusing seasons.
Declaration: I am filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding through the Holy Spirit.
4. You discern truth from error
1 John 4:1 (NLT) — “Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God.”
Summary: Discernment guards your spirit. The closer you walk with God, the easier it becomes to recognize what is genuine.
Declaration: I walk in discernment; the Holy Spirit helps me recognize truth and reject deception.
5. You speak with wisdom and grace
Colossians 4:6 (NLT) — “Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”
Summary: Wisdom isn’t silent — it’s reflected in how you speak. Grace-filled words carry power and peace.
Declaration: My words are seasoned with grace; I speak wisdom that builds and blesses.
6. You are wise through the Word
Psalm 19:7 (NLT) — “The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
Summary: God’s Word transforms the unlearned into the wise. Scripture is your daily compass for godly living.
Declaration: The Word of God makes me wise; it renews and guides my soul.
