When Desire Conceives

Read: James 1:15

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin…

”

Conception implies agreement. Desire moves from curiosity to commitment. This is where

temptation shifts from suggestion to ownership. Before sin becomes visible, it has already been

nurtured internally.

You replayed it.

You justified it.

You excused it.

You defended it.

And once desire is protected, it grows.

The dangerous part? Conception happens in private. No one sees the inward agreement. But

heaven does. And your conscience does.

If you silence conviction long enough, numbness sets in. And numbness is dangerous. Because

when your conscience dulls, restraint weakens. God does not only want external obedience. He

wants internal alignment. If desire is never surrendered, it will eventually surface. Not because

God is punishing you. But because what is nurtured grows.

Is there something I have been mentally agreeing with that I would never openly confess?

What have I been protecting instead of surrendering?

PrayerLord, interrupt agreement with anything that opposes You. Purify desire before it produces

damage.
