DAY 3 — God Prunes What Drains Life

“No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”

— Hebrews 12:11 (CSB)

God does not prune to take joy away. He prunes to protect it.

A gardener removes branches that pull nutrients away from healthy growth. In the same way, God removes things that quietly drain life from our souls—even if those things once seemed good or necessary.

Sometimes pruning looks like letting go of habits that keep us distracted.

Sometimes it’s releasing mindsets rooted in fear or control.

Sometimes it’s even good things that have become heavy things.

God sees the cost long before we do. He sees what is draining you spiritually, emotionally, or mentally. And because He loves you, He refuses to let those drains continue unchecked.

If something is being removed, it may be because it has begun to cost more than it gives. God is not depriving you—He is protecting you.

Prayer

God, help me trust You as You remove what drains my life. Teach me to release without resentment.

Remain Practice

Ask God honestly: “What is taking more from me than it gives?” Sit quietly and listen.
