September week 4 reflection:
September Reflection — Enduring in Faith
We began this month learning to trust God's direction. Then we talked about choosing faith over fear, taking those difficult steps of faith, and finally learning what it means to endure in faith.
And maybe that's the hardest part.
It's one thing to trust God when you can see where you're going. It's another thing entirely to keep trusting Him when you don't understand the path, when the answer hasn't come, or when circumstances don't look the way you hoped they would.
But that's where faith becomes more than a feeling.
Faith says, I may not understand what You're doing, but I know Who You are.
This month has reminded me that being faithful to God doesn't mean everything will suddenly become easy. It doesn't mean we won't struggle, doubt, cry, get tired, or wonder what He's doing.
It means we keep coming back.
We keep walking.
We keep trusting.
And as we do, we begin to see that God's faithfulness isn't dependent on our circumstances.
Psalm 73:25–26 says:
“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”
I love that this is where our month ends.
Because sometimes our flesh and our hearts do fail us. Sometimes we're tired. Sometimes we're afraid. Sometimes we don't feel particularly faithful at all.
But God remains faithful.
He doesn't ask us to walk the entire road at once. He asks us to take the next step with Him.
And maybe that's what walking by faith really looks like—not having everything figured out, but continuing to walk because we know Who walks beside us.
As September comes to a close, I don't want to measure my faith by how perfectly I walked.
I want to remember that God was faithful every step of the way.
And if He was faithful yesterday, I can trust Him with tomorrow.
Write it. Hide it in your heart. Live it. 💜
