Mercy Like Jesus.

“Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility],” — Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We are called to have mercy on one another, the same mercy Jesus so generously pours out on us. You have the mind of Christ and that same power that He has to give mercy to us lives in you. Mercy is not simply overlooking faults or excusing wrongs—it is extending compassion, forgiveness, and grace even when it’s undeserved. This is exactly what Christ did for us on the cross.

Scripture tells us that we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). That means the Holy Spirit empowers us to think differently, to see others not through the lens of offense or judgment, but through the eyes of Christ’s mercy. As you grow in Him, your thoughts, words, and actions begin to align with His. You’ll also start to desire for others the same freedom, healing, and joy you’ve experienced in Him. That should be your goal on a daily basis: to think, act, and become more like Him every day.

Loving others this way isn’t about trying harder—it’s about letting God’s love first fill you, then overflow through you. When you receive His mercy daily, you’ll find yourself able to offer it freely to others. Mercy becomes not just what you give, but who you are becoming in Christ.

Let God love you, and love through you.

  • How can you let His love flow through you today?
