When Hope Lights Up A Face
Theme: The Joy of Seeing Christ Transform a Life
Scripture
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
— Romans 10:14 (KJV)
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
— John 10:10 (KJV)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”
— Romans 1:16 (KJV)
Emphasis
Do you know what sets me on fire?
It’s seeing the moment when the Word of God comes alive in someone’s heart.
There is something beautiful that happens when you share the truth of Scripture and suddenly it connects. You can almost see the light come on. Their faces soften. Their posture changes. Their eyes begin to fill with hope.
Not because of eloquent words.
Not because of the person speaking.
But because the Holy Spirit has taken the living Word of God and planted it deep within their heart.
That moment never gets old.
It’s one of the greatest privileges of being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Yes, I love God. That alone is enough reason to follow Him. But there is another joy that keeps me pressing forward—the joy of watching someone discover the hope that changed my own life.
Attributes of God
The reason lives are transformed is because of who God is.
He is the Giver of Life.
He is the Redeemer who restores what sin has broken.
He is the Savior who offers forgiveness instead of condemnation.
He is the God of Hope, filling weary hearts with confidence that their story is not over.
He is the Resurrection and the Life.
Jesus didn’t simply die on the cross.
He willingly gave Himself for us.
He was buried.
On the third day He rose again in victory over sin and death.
Because He lives, we are invited into the newness of life.
His resurrection is not only a historical event—it is the promise that anyone who belongs to Him can experience transformation today.
That is the hope we carry.
That is the message worth sharing.
Personal Reflection
I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of seeing someone encounter Jesus.
Whether it’s during a conversation, while teaching, preaching, or simply sharing what God has done in my own life, there is nothing quite like watching hope replace despair.
I’ve seen faces change.
I’ve seen fear give way to peace.
I’ve watched people begin believing that maybe—just maybe—God hasn’t forgotten them.
Those moments remind me why discipleship matters.
We aren’t simply passing along information.
We’re introducing people to the One who changes everything.
That is what keeps the fire burning inside of me.
Not applause.
Not recognition.
Not a title.
Just the overwhelming joy of watching the Holy Spirit reveal Jesus to another heart.
If one person walks away knowing Christ more deeply than they did before, then every moment spent studying, praying, preparing, and serving is worth it.
Because someone else now has hope.
And hope has a name.
His name is Jesus.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for allowing us to carry the hope of the Gospel. Let our words always point people to Jesus and never to ourselves. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit so that every conversation reflects Your love and truth. Use our lives to bring hope to the hopeless and light to those walking in darkness. May we never lose the joy of seeing lives transformed by Your grace.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen.
