Faith That Moves AT The Pace Of Grace
Faith Moves at the Pace of Grace
“What I know to be true about God is greater than what I can see with my eyes.”
If there is one lesson God has patiently taught me over the years, it is this:
God works in each of us at the speed we need—not the speed we want.
If I am being transparent, there have been many moments when I wanted Him to hurry. I prayed, “Lord, put the gas on!” I wanted immediate answers, immediate healing, immediate growth, and immediate breakthroughs.
But looking back now, I wouldn’t recommend rushing God’s process.
His timing has never been late. His timing has never been careless. His timing has always been perfect.
There were seasons when I couldn’t understand why he wasn't moving faster. Now I realize He wasn’t delaying my blessing—He was developing my heart.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) reminds us:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Waiting isn’t wasted when God is doing the work.
Faith Was Never Meant to Be Passive
When we think about faith, we often focus on what we believe about God.
Do we believe He is faithful?
Do we believe He heals?
Do we believe He provides?
Do we believe He keeps His promises?
Those are wonderful questions.
But there is another question that has transformed my walk with Christ:
What does God believe about me?
That may sound unusual at first, but Scripture is full of God’s declarations over His children.
He calls us chosen.
He calls us forgiven.
He calls us daughters.
He calls us redeemed.
He calls us holy.
He calls us His workmanship.
He calls us more than conquerors through Christ.
The enemy spends much of his time trying to convince us that God’s opinion of us isn’t true. He reminds us of our failures while God reminds us of His grace.
Faith isn’t only believing that God exists.
Faith is believing what God says—even when your emotions argue with it.
Healing Is Bigger Than the Body
Many of us pray for physical healing, and we should.
Jesus still heals.
But healing isn’t always about sickness and disease.
Sometimes healing looks like bitterness finally losing its grip.
Sometimes healing is forgiveness after years of pain.
Sometimes healing is freedom from shame you’ve secretly carried for decades.
Sometimes healing is believing that your past no longer defines your future.
Sometimes healing is learning to receive God’s love after spending years trying to earn it.
The deepest wounds are often invisible.
People can smile while carrying broken hearts.
They can attend church while silently believing they are beyond restoration.
They can serve others while feeling completely unworthy themselves.
Yet Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted.
Psalm 147:3 (KJV) says,
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
He doesn’t simply cover wounds.
He binds them.
He restores them.
He transforms them into testimonies.
When Truth Became Greater Than Sight
There came a point in my own journey when something shifted.
I reached a place where what I knew to be true was greater than what I could see with my natural eyes.
Circumstances still looked uncertain.
Questions still remained unanswered.
My feelings still fluctuated.
But God’s Word didn’t.
I realized that faith doesn’t deny reality.
Faith simply refuses to let reality have the final word.
Second Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) says,
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Walking by faith doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine.
It means trusting that God is working even when you cannot yet see the evidence.
It means standing on His promises before they become visible.
It means believing His character more than your circumstances.
What You Believe About God Changes Everything
Our lives are always moving in the direction of our deepest beliefs.
If we believe God is distant, we’ll keep Him at a distance.
If we believe He is disappointed in us, we’ll live trying to earn His approval.
If we believe He only loves perfect people, we’ll hide our weaknesses.
But if we believe He is a loving Father…
If we believe His grace is sufficient…
If we believe His mercy is new every morning…
If we believe nothing can separate us from His love…
Everything begins to change.
Fear loses its authority.
Shame loses its voice.
Hope begins to grow again.
Faith becomes stronger than feelings.
His Word Has the Final Say
There will always be voices competing for your attention.
Your past has a voice.
Your fears have a voice.
Culture has a voice.
The enemy certainly has a voice.
But only one voice speaks absolute truth.
God’s Word.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) tells us that His Word is living and powerful.
His promises are not empty encouragements.
They are eternal truth.
When God says you are forgiven, you are forgiven.
When He says you are loved, you are loved.
When He says you are His daughter, nothing can change that.
When He says He will never leave you nor forsake you, He means it.
There is incredible freedom in allowing God’s opinion of you to outweigh every other opinion—including your own.
Trust the Pace of Grace
If you feel like you’re growing slowly, don’t lose heart.
God isn’t measuring your progress against someone else’s journey.
He knows exactly where you are.
He knows exactly what needs healing.
He knows exactly what needs strengthening.
And He knows exactly how much pressure to apply without crushing you.
The process may feel slow, but slow does not mean stagnant.
Roots grow before fruit appears.
Character develops before calling expands.
Faith matures before miracles are often recognized.
Trust the pace of grace.
Your Father is never in a hurry, yet He is never behind.
One day you’ll look back and realize that every delay, every lesson, every season of waiting was preparing you for something you couldn’t yet see.
And you’ll discover that His timing wasn’t simply good.
It was perfect.
Life Application
Take a few quiet moments today and ask yourself these questions:
What do I truly believe about God?
Do my daily thoughts agree with what God says about me?
Am I allowing my past, my feelings, or my circumstances to define me more than God’s Word?
Choose one promise from Scripture this week and meditate on it every day. Whenever fear, shame, or doubt begins to speak, answer it with God’s truth. Faith grows as we continually renew our minds with His Word. The more we believe what He says, the more we begin to live like the daughters He created us to be.
Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me enough to work in my life with perfect wisdom and perfect timing. Help me trust Your process when I become impatient and remind me that You are never late. Heal every hidden place in my heart where fear, bitterness, shame, or disappointment still tries to live. Teach me to believe Your Word above my emotions and Your promises above my circumstances. Help me see myself the way You see me—as Your beloved daughter, redeemed through Christ and called according to Your purpose. Strengthen my faith to walk by what You have said instead of what I can see. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
