November theme: A Life of Gratitude

A Life of Gratitude

November Scripture Writing Initiative

As we enter November, our hearts and minds often turn toward gratitude. We begin thinking about the blessings in our lives, the people we cherish, and the things we are thankful for. But gratitude is about more than recognizing the good things around us. It's about learning to recognize God's goodness in every season of life.

This month, our Scripture Writing Initiative is centered on A Life of Gratitude. Together, we'll explore what it means to recognize God's goodness, remain grateful in difficult circumstances, remember His faithfulness, and live with thankful hearts.

Throughout Scripture, we are reminded that God's goodness does not depend on our circumstances. Even when life feels uncertain, when prayers seem unanswered, or when we walk through seasons of difficulty, we can remember who God is and trust in His faithfulness. Gratitude doesn't mean pretending that life is perfect or ignoring our struggles. It means choosing to acknowledge God's presence, provision, and promises even when the path ahead is unclear.

Each week, we'll focus on a different aspect of gratitude:

  • Week 1: Recognizing God's Goodness — Learning to notice His goodness and acknowledge the blessings He places in our lives.

  • Week 2: Gratitude in Every Circumstance — Discovering how we can remain thankful even when life doesn't unfold the way we hoped.

  • Week 3: Remembering His Faithfulness — Looking back at God's faithfulness and allowing the remembrance of His goodness to strengthen our trust in Him today.

  • Week 4: Living with a Thankful Heart — Learning how gratitude can shape our attitudes, our prayers, our words, and the way we treat others.

As you work through this month's passages, take your time. Read each Scripture thoughtfully, write it out, and consider what it reveals about God's character and your relationship with Him. Use the reflection questions to explore what each passage means for your life, and don't be afraid to bring your honest thoughts and questions before God.

You don't have to wait until everything is going right to practice gratitude. Sometimes the most meaningful expressions of thankfulness grow in the middle of life's hardest seasons.

My prayer is that this month will help us become more intentional about recognizing God's goodness, remembering His faithfulness, and carrying grateful hearts into every season—not just November.

Let's make gratitude more than a November tradition. Let's make it a way of life.

Chosen. Known. Loved.
