They Called It Waste — But Jesus Called It Worship
When Mary broke open her alabaster jar and poured out her costly perfume on Jesus, the people around her didn’t understand.
They called it waste.
They murmured about what could’ve been done differently — how the perfume could’ve been sold, how the money could’ve been better used.
But Jesus saw something no one else did. He saw her heart.
To them, it looked foolish. To Him, it looked holy.
To them, it seemed excessive. To Him, it was beautiful.
That’s the nature of real obedience — it won’t always make sense to those watching from the sidelines. Radical love will always look unreasonable to those who don’t know the cost of your oil. 💧
But Heaven measures differently. What the world calls waste, Heaven calls worship. Every tear you’ve cried in surrender, every “yes” that cost you something, every offering of love that seemed unseen — Jesus sees it, and He remembers.
When you pour out your life, your time, your worship, your obedience — even when it feels like no one notices — He does. And He writes it into eternity.
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” (Mark 14:9)
💧 Keep pouring. Even when others call it waste.
💔 Keep obeying. Even when it costs you everything.
🌹 Keep loving. Even when it’s misunderstood.
God sees. God remembers. And He calls it beautiful.
Because worship is never about what makes sense to people — it’s about what touches His heart. ❤️🔥
