Week 2: Identity - Created for Wholeness, Cont.

WEEK 2 – IDENTITY & WHOLENESS, CONTINUED

Opening Prayer:

Father God, tonight, I ask you to strip away every false label and reveal His truth about who we are. Father, we invite Him to help us see ourselves through His eyes — as His daughters, precious, whole, and deeply loved. Father empower our minds and hearts to receive Your truth of who YOU say we are above any other lie about our identity that was formed in us by the enemy who hates us, who doesn’t want us to know the magnitude of your love for us, who doesn’t want us to walk in the fullness of who we are when we accepted You as our Lord and Savior. Father, I pray for scales to fall off of blinded eyes tonight, that your truth will be revealed to them as we open up the power of your love letter to us. Lead me Father, speak only what these daughters of yours needs to hear. Nothing more, nothing less. In Jesus name. Amen.

RECAP LAST WEEK, ESPECIALLY THE PARTS NOT RECORDED

Before healing, freedom, or deliverance can take place, we must first understand our identity in Christ.

  • Created with Purpose: You are not an accident. God formed you intentionally in His image (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139). You carry His creativity, beauty, and strength.

  • The Enemy’s Lies: The devil tries to distort our identity through lies, wounds, and labels like “broken,” “not enough,” or “unworthy.” Believing these lies gives him power over us.

  • God’s Truth: Scripture declares you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139), set apart (Jeremiah 1:5), and created with a good plan and future (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28).

  • Identity Rooted in Love: Since God’s nature is love, our identity begins in love. When we embrace His truth, we gain confidence, resilience, and freedom to live authentically.

  • Personal Testimony: Even when others spoke negative words (like being called an “accident”), God’s truth overrides those lies. His hand and heart have always been on your life.

  • Wholeness & Healing: True healing starts when we reclaim our God-given identity and stop letting the world, past pain, or others’ words define us.

  • Living in Identity:

  • Meditate on and pray God’s Word daily.

  • Notice who you are when at peace, not performing.

  • Resist letting circumstances hijack your identity.

Key Point: Healing begins with knowing who you are in Christ. Transformation happens when you allow God’s Word to redefine your identity and renew your heart.

Key Identity Aspects of Being God’s Daughters:

• Adopted – We are children of God through Christ. (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:7)
• Chosen & Consecrated – Set apart for a divine purpose. (1 Peter 2:9; John 15:16; Jeremiah 1:5)
• Treasured – God calls us His special possession. (Deuteronomy 14:2; Matthew 6:21)
• Favored – Recipients of God’s unearned grace. (Psalm 84:11; Proverbs 3:1-4)
• Royalty – Daughters of the King, a royal priesthood. (1 Peter 2:9; Hebrews 7:24)
• Heirs with Christ – Sharing His blessings and glory. (Romans 8:17; Galatians 3:29)
• Free – No longer slaves to fear or sin. We are FREE, REDEEMED. (John 8:36; Galatians 5:1)
• Deeply Loved – Nothing can separate us from God’s love. (1 John 3:1; Jeremiah 31:3; Romans 8:38-39)
• Worthy – Christ’s sacrifice proves our worth. (Romans 5:8; Isaiah 43:4)

We left off last week on Free & Purposed, this week we are continuing our study on learning and ACCEPTING HIS LOVE for us!!

Love and Acceptance:

God's great love for you is the reason you are called His daughter, granting you worth and acceptance.

Not just loved, but DEEPLY LOVED

1 John 3:1 says, “See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! “

TPT says, “Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that He has lavished on us! He has called us and made us His very own children.”

Ephesians 2:4-5 says, “But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment).”

TPT says it this way, “But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, He united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by His wonderful grace. He raised us upon with Christ, the exalted One, and we ascended with Him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are no co-seated as one with Christ.”

In Jeremiah 31: 3, God tells us “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.”

TPT says it this way, “I have DEEPLY loved you with a forever-love; that is why I have been so patient and kind to draw you to my heart.”

Y’all HE LOVES US THAT MUCH. DEEPLY. So much that He sent came down from heaven, into the form of man through Jesus, and EMPTIED HIMSELF OUT FOR US. Jesus stepped out of heaven and didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant. He became a man, yet was fully God. He humbled himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross.

“who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes—the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. ‭‭— Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“He emptied Himself” out for us…Marinate on that a for a moment. HE EMPTIED HIMSELF OUT FOR US.

Ephesians 3:17-19 says, “And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, 18 be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; 19 and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].”

TPT beautifully states this as, “Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences – the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding – this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled overflowing with the fullness of God.”

I don’t know about you, but I want to be that resting place for God’s astonishing love for the rest of my life. I want Him to pour into me until I am filled overflowing with the fullness of all He is, so that I can be made whole. I want the magnitude of that love, that astonishing, immeasurable love that heals all of my wounds, all of my scars, to be released DEEP inside of me, that it may allow me to overflow that love onto others. I want to be ROOTED in that love. That love, that in Romans 8:38 He tells us, “Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” NO ONE CAN SEPARATE ME FROM THAT LOVE.

He wants us to ABIDE in this love, y’all, to ABIDE is to COMMUNE CONTIUNALLY with the One we adore. Jesus invites each heart into this residing in divine affection with one of the most compelling confessions of His love ever communicated.

In John 15:9-11, he says “I have loved you just as the Father has loved Me; remain in My love [and do not doubt My love for you].  If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.”

He begins with expressing the worth of the love in which He invites us to abide with Him. This love that Jesus possesses for me and beckons me to continually immerse my heart in is only to be compared to the love that the Father possesses for HIM. It is the same love. The way that the Father feels for the Son is the same way that the Son feels for me!! Can you just take that in for a moment? That’s how much He loves us!! Unfathonable reward of the ages!! It is in context to this description of His love thazt He beckons the heart, saying, “Stay here in My love, and do not depart from its embrace! Abide with Me in this love divine, and you shall KNOW the fullness of joy! OVERFLOWING with JOY!!

WORTHY

Romans 5:8 “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

And I am WORTH that love... Even in my SIN I was deemed WORTHY of that love, and so were YOU. Over and over we are called His “beloved” in this LOVE STORY called the Bible. The Bible is our LOVE LETTER FROM GOD. He speaks of His love for you in every book. How are you not WORTHY of His love?

Isaiah 43:4 He tells us, ““Because you are precious in My sight,
You are honored and I love you, I will give other men in return for you and other peoples in exchange for your life.”

TPT, “Since you are CHERISHED and PRECIOUS in My eyes, and because I love you dearly and want to honor you, I willingly give up nations in exchange for you – a man to save your life.” ----- WHO YOU THINK HE’S TALKING ABOUT???? JESUS!!!

Isaiah 60:1 He tells us, ““Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come,
And the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you.”

YOU are the APPLE OF HIS EYE!

Psalm 17:8 “Keep me [in Your affectionate care, protect me] as the [a]apple of Your eye;
Hide me in the [protective] shadow of Your wings”

TPT says you are “reflected in the twinkle of His eye.”

Matthew 6:26 says, “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

Aren’t you much more valuable to Your Father than the birds in the air? He took the time to KNIT YOU together. To FORM you. To BREATHE HIS LIFE AND SPIRIT INTO you.

He says it right here in Matthew 10:30-31, “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge].  So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”

He NUMBERED THE HAIRS ON YOUR HEAD!!!! Would He take time to do that if you were not VALUABLE, PRECIOUS, AND WORTHY TO HIM??

CLOSING:

John 6:44 says, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him [giving him the desire to come to Me]; and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.” - AMP

TPT says, “The only way people come to me is by the Father who sent me – He pulls on their hearts to embrace me. And those who are drawn to Me, I will certainly raise them up in the last day.”

That is our NUMBER ONE PURPOSE, to be drawn to Jesus and embrace Him.

Romans 11:29 promises us, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].”

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;
It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

And you can STAND ON THIS. God does not lie. If He promises it, it will be done. NO ONE, NOT EVEN YOURSELF can take pull you from your God-given purpose. I have had so many times in my own life that God has literally saved me from destroying myself. No matter who tried to come against me, none have prevailed. Some things that happened in my life may have caused me to get off track or out of His purpose for my life, but He has always been there to vindicate me and also save me, even from myself. I know many more women who can say the same, I’m sure.

TPT says, “And when God CHOOSES someone and graciously imparts gift to him, they are never rescinded.”

Remember, God CHOSE you. He set you free. He set you apart. He treasures you. You are immeasurably loved by Him. He adopted you and made you a co-heir with Christ, to walk in all the same power and authority that Jesus did. He gave you a purpose on this earth. Don’t let ANYONE tell you anything otherwise.

GOD PICKED YOU FOR A REASON. There is something special inside of you that hell has been trying to silence – and heaven refuses to waste. You are not random. You are ASSIGNED. WALK LIKE IT. SPEAK LIKE IT. LIVE LIKE IT. DECLARE IT.

Declaring your identity means that you are ready to:

  • Embrace your identity

  • Speak the truth of your identity

  • Activate purpose because you know your identity

  • Invite others to bear witness to your identity

  • CELEBRATE your identity

Coming into the fullness of who we are isn’t just for us. There are generations connected to us walking boldly into the call of who we are and what that calling produces.

Q. Are you seeing how weighty your identity is?

The best way we can honor the work we’ve done, and have a lifetime to do, is to remain hungry for who you’re becoming! Remember: Telling the world who you are isn’t for public approval or fanfare, it’s your response and commitment to God’s plan for your life.

Remember the CURRENT of which you are from...

Discussion Questions:

  1. What does it mean to you personally to be created in God’s image?

  1. In what ways has the world, culture, or your past experiences tried to distort your identity?

  1. How does hearing these truths change the perspective you once had about your identity?

  1. What practical steps can you take each day to remind yourself of who you are in Christ? (Examples: speaking affirmations from Scripture, journaling, surrounding yourself with truth-filled community, prayer.)

This week, reflect on this truth:

“ALL of me is called. ALL of me is equipped. ALL of me is exactly who You chose. And I will live as her fully, wholly, and completely. Today, Father, I reclaim who I am in Christ.”

Hold onto that declaration. Speak it when doubt creeps in. Pray it when lies whisper otherwise. Journal it until it takes root in your heart.

Remember the CURRENT of which you are from...

Closing Prayer:

“Father, thank You for creating me in Your image. Thank You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Help me to see myself the way You see me — whole, loved, and chosen. Strip away every false label and heal the broken places of my identity.

Father, I am thankful for the space to be with you in pursuit of the best version of me. Thank you for setting me in the beauty and wonder of my own uniqueness, gifts, and special offerings to the world. Thank you for giving me the language and the tools to l earn who that is and the desire to harness her unapologetically. I am honored to be called. Grateful to be seen. Energized by the limitless ways that You will use me i n the time and space that YOU have called me into. There is a journey that Heaven is backing, and I can rest in that while You lead me in the way that I am to work toward it. ALL of me is called. ALL of me is equipped. ALL of me is exactly who You chose. And I will live as her fully, wholly, and completely. Amen
