Prayer for Faith
Introduction:
Faith is not the absence of doubt—it’s the choice to trust God anyway. It’s believing that He is who He says He is, even when the evidence feels thin and the waiting feels long. Real faith grows in the dark, when we choose to stand on God’s Word instead of our feelings.
Prayer:
Father,
You are the Author and Finisher of my faith. You are faithful, unchanging, and true. Even when my confidence wavers, Your promises stand firm. When I cannot see what You’re doing, I choose to trust that You are still working all things together for good.
Lord, I confess that my faith is not always strong. Doubt creeps in like shadows, and fear tries to take root when I don’t understand Your timing or Your ways. Yet I remember that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, because the power is not in my faith—it’s in You.
Strengthen me, God, when unbelief whispers that You’ve forgotten me. Remind me that You are never late, never absent, and never indifferent. Help me to rest in Your nature, not in my understanding; to trust in Your heart, not just Your hand.
When my prayers seem unanswered, teach me to believe that delay is not denial. When the path feels dark, remind me that faith walks by trust, not sight. And when my heart grows weary, rekindle my belief that what You promised, You will perform.
Holy Spirit, breathe fresh courage into my spirit. Fill me with unshakable confidence in Your Word. Let every doubt bow to truth, and every fear be cast down by perfect love. Renew my mind to think faith, speak faith, and live faith.
Father, help me to remember that faith is not a feeling—it’s a choice. It’s choosing to believe You are good when the outcome is unclear. It’s choosing to stand firm on Your promises even when everything else is shifting. It’s choosing to praise You in the waiting, knowing that Your faithfulness never fails.
When storms rise, anchor me in Your Word. When I am tempted to lean on my own understanding, draw me back to Your wisdom. Let my faith be tested and proven genuine, refined like gold through the fire, so that my life becomes a testimony of Your power and grace.
Lord, grow my faith—not for comfort, but for courage. Not for ease, but for endurance. Not for self-assurance, but for complete dependence on You. Let me believe You for the impossible, expect miracles where none seem likely, and hold fast to hope when everything around me says “let go.”
I believe You are who You say You are.
I believe You will do what You said You’ll do.
And I believe that You are with me, even now, working in ways I cannot yet see.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen.
