Devotional for week 2- Life in the Spirit: Bearing Spiritual Fruit

Week 2 Devotional: Step by Step

Key Verse:
“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
—Galatians 5:25 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Have you ever walked with someone who has a completely different pace than you? Maybe they walk too fast, too slow, or stop constantly—and it throws off your rhythm. Walking with the Spirit is no different. The challenge isn’t just about moving—it’s about moving in sync.

Keeping in step with the Holy Spirit requires awareness. Attention. Surrender. It’s not about trying to get ahead of Him with our own plans, or dragging our feet in fear or hesitation. It’s about aligning our spiritual pace with His—even when it feels uncomfortable.

Some days the Spirit will lead you to pause and rest. Other days, He’ll ask you to move into something new, even if you don’t feel ready. That’s the walk. It’s less about how far you go and more about who you're walking with.

When you keep in step with the Spirit, you're protected from burnout and detours. You don’t waste time chasing what looks good but isn’t God. And even when the path is unfamiliar, you’ll find peace—because He’s setting the pace.

Reflection Question:
Are there areas where you’ve been outrunning God… or falling behind Him? What might it look like to walk in sync with Him this week?
