Main Teaching Points
1. Spiritual Resurrection Demands a Shift in Perspective
Scripture: Colossians 3:1–2, Philippians 3:20
The Christian life begins with death—but it doesn’t end there. You’ve been raised with Christ, and your eyes must now lift with Him. If you want to walk in new life, your mindset must change. You must pursue heaven, not just avoid hell.
Heaven is not just your destination—it’s your motivation.
You live from a kingdom above, not a culture around.
You’ll never walk in victory if you’re still looking back at the grave.
2. Your Old Nature Must Be Actively Put to Death
Scripture: Colossians 3:5–10, Romans 8:13
This isn’t a one-and-done process. The flesh doesn’t get the hint—it must be crucified daily. Every sinful desire, every corrupted appetite, every prideful impulse must be put to death. Your new life must be guarded with intentionality.
Sin doesn’t die quietly—you must kill it deliberately.
Identity shift must be followed by lifestyle shift.
Grace gives you the sword—but you must swing it.
3. The New You Is Being Renewed Every Day
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16, Colossians 3:10
You’re not just changed—you’re being changed. Sanctification is progressive. God isn’t finished with you yet, but He has already begun the good work. The new nature is unfolding as you abide in Him.
Don’t confuse the presence of struggle with the absence of salvation.
Your new nature is growing—even if it’s messy.
You’re not who you were, and you’re not yet who you’ll be. But you are His.
4. Holiness Is a Wardrobe Change
Scripture: Colossians 3:12–14, Ephesians 4:22–24
Putting on Christ is like changing clothes—you must choose to wear His character. Compassion, kindness, humility, patience, and love are the garments of the new life. Holiness isn’t an accessory—it’s your spiritual uniform.
You don’t just put off the old—you must put on the new.
5. Peace, Gratitude, and Worship Are the Atmosphere of New Life
Scripture: Colossians 3:15–17, Romans 12:1–2
The fruit of a resurrected life is not just external obedience but internal transformation. Peace rules. Gratitude overflows. Worship becomes a lifestyle. The heart becomes the altar, and every action becomes an offering.
Living the new life means walking in consistent surrender and joy.
A heart set on Christ reflects Him in everything.
Worship is not what you attend—it’s who you become.
Reflect & Respond
What parts of your old nature are still lingering and need to be put to death?
What “spiritual clothes” are you wearing—are they from your old life or your new one?
How are you creating space daily for renewal, worship, and gratitude?
Living Out the New Life
Declaration:
I walk in holiness, clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, and love. My mind is set on things above, not on the world around me. The Spirit renews me daily, and my life reflects the character of Christ. I am a light in darkness and a vessel of God’s love.”
