What is IGNITE?

IGNITE Youth Internships is a faith-based internship and volunteer development program designed to help young people discover their gifts, develop practical skills, gain real-world experience, and explore God's purpose for their lives.

Participants may earn volunteer service hours while gaining exposure to ministry operations, nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, project development, stewardship, service, and personal growth.

Whether a student's future leads into ministry, business, entrepreneurship, creative arts, technology, nonprofit leadership, community impact, or another path entirely,IGNITE provides opportunities to learn, grow, serve, and explore their God-given potential

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. -Psalms 139:14 (NLT)

Why IGNITE Exists

Too many young people are told what they can't do.

Not enough are shown what they can become.

IGNITE exists to bridge that gap.

We believe young people need more than information—they need opportunity, mentorship, experience, and exposure to what is possible.

They need the chance to discover their gifts, develop practical skills, explore their interests, and see firsthand how ideas become reality.

Regardless of where their future leads, our goal is to help young people build a faith-based foundation of character, responsibility, leadership, purpose, and service.

IGNITE exists to help young people move from possibility to purpose.

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. -Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)

Biblical Principles

Youth & Leadership

1 Timothy 4:12- . Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Remaining Faithful

2 Timothy 3:14–15- But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Calling

Jeremiah 1:7- The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Guiding Ideas

Think Independently

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."

— Friedrich Nietzsche

Grow Intentionally

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."

— George Bernard Shaw

Discover Purpose

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

— Howard Thurman

Take Action

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do."

— Leonardo da Vinci

Direction Determines Destination

"Which way does a tree fall? The way it leans."

— The Lorax

This principle reminds us that small daily choices shape future outcomes. Character, habits, convictions, and direction are formed long before major life decisions are made. The direction of a life is often determined long before the moment of impact.

Two Internship Pathways

Operational Pathway

Designed for students seeking volunteer opportunities, service hours, practical experience, and exposure to how a ministry or nonprofit organization functions.

Participants will gain hands-on experience by moving through various operational areas of Formed Through Fire Ministry. Depending on their interests, availability, and goals, interns may be exposed to administration, technology, communications, events, stewardship, project development, resource creation, and other behind-the-scenes functions.

The goal is to provide real-world experience while helping students develop practical skills, responsibility, professionalism, and a holistic understanding of how mission-driven organizations are built, managed, and sustained.

Rising Leaders Pathway

Designed for students who sense a call toward ministry, discipleship, teaching, service, or Kingdom impact.

This pathway combines spiritual formation, biblical foundations, mentorship, and practical ministry experience. Participants will explore what it means to serve faithfully, steward influence well, grow in character, and develop the maturity necessary for long-term Kingdom impact.

In addition to spiritual formation, Rising Leaders participants will gain hands-on experience through ministry projects, service opportunities, guided reflection, and practical application.
